About LynDale Lewis
The origin story
LynDale Lewis Professional artist and muralist LynDale Lewis of McKinney, Texas has been transforming ordinary rooms into magical places for over 20 years now. LynDale has painted everything from furniture to fireplaces, floors to ceilings, full wall murals and full-room mural creations. It has been an extremely exciting and rewarding experience. More from the artist: I am a native Texan. I studied architecture at Texas A&M University, receiving my Bachelor of Environmental Design from the College of Architecture in May of 2000. I then moved to the Dallas area and have enjoyed living in these rapidly growing suburbs. While in college, I was fortunate enough to study art and architecture in Italy for a semester. I lived in a converted monastery at the TAMU campus in Tuscany and visited cities from Naples to Venice and all in between. I loved the art, the scenery, the buildings, the people…I'd go back any time! I was also able to visit Prague, Budapest, Paris, Nice, Monaco, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria while I was living overseas. I would highly recommend that college students take advantage of these types of opportunities. I have, in the past two years, visited and painted murals in Switzerland and Madagascar. Amazing experiences where I left large artwork and a piece of myself. I have really enjoyed using my artistic talent. I can hardly believe I am a professional artist. I never dreamed that I would be able to earn money with my God-given talent. I have truly been blessed. One of the best parts of this job is the clients. I absolutely love meeting new people and families and making friends. Some clients have become dear friends while I work in their homes, keeping up friendships for years now. I do not use any projection techniques and usually do not even draw out the designs ahead of time - the base coats always cover the sketches anyway! Most of my clients trust me to do as I please and it will be great - after all, they got my name from a trusted friend or relative and have seen my work before. Some have an idea of what they want, others let me have my way with the room. I try to use the client’s decorating style and personality to determine how I will proceed in a room. I love to hear how pleased people are when they have their room complete. There are some rooms I don’t want to leave because I like them so much! I will do custom artwork from portraits of children, parents, or pets to contemporary pieces to coordinate with a room's decor. I have also designed logos for businesses. I can do these pieces on canvas, paper, wood, or your walls. I paint in watercolors, acrylic, and oil. I also do pencil and charcoal work. I have worked in illustrating for childrens' books and would love to expand my experience in this field.
